Compliance automation for virtual assets: from playbook to evidence

Virtual asset compliance usually lives in documents: policies, procedures, control spreadsheets. The problem is that documents don't execute anything — and the evidence that controls were applied ends up scattered across emails and screenshots.

Compliance automation is the process of turning those policies into executable checks, with evidence generated automatically.

Step 1: from text to control

Every rule in the playbook needs to be rewritten as a verifiable control: 'every movement above X requires approval from Y' becomes a check that queries the movement log and the approval log. Vague rules ('there must be adequate supervision') need to be made concrete before they can be automated.

Step 2: mapping to frameworks

Internal controls usually correspond to requirements from external frameworks — LGPD, industry standards, custodian requirements. Keeping that mapping explicit lets you generate reports per framework without rework.

Step 3: execution and evidence

With controls defined, the co-pilot can run checklists on scheduled cycles, record the result of each check and attach the evidence (queries, records, approvals) automatically. The compliance report stops being days of manual work and becomes a by-product of the operation.

Step 4: exceptions and review

Failing controls generate exceptions that need human handling — with a record of who analyzed them, what they decided and why. Periodic reviews of the controls ensure they stay aligned with policies and regulation, which change.
